The rapidly growing population of Pakistan includes over 40 million youth in the age group of 15-25 years. Over 50% of such youth are literate but possess no skills to earn a living. Hence they pose a threat to social stability as they are likely to drift into undesirable/criminal activities.
Karigar Training Institute (KTI) has responded to this National challenge by offering vocational skills training on an expanding scale.
Karigar started operations in March 2009, as a 'not for profit' company, incorporated under section 42 of the Companies Ordinance 1984, of the Government of Pakistan.
To contribute towards social stability by enabling young, literate and semi literate men and women from less privileged sections of society to become economically independent, through acquisition of specialized vocational skills.
To establish and manage vocational skills training centers to impart quality training at basic and advanced levels and to instill good work ethics.
